2010 – Before brown spots and skin tags removal
Over the years, numerous brown spots and skin tags have appeared on my face.
As they were becoming more noticeable and looked quite unsightly, I decided to have them removed.
I was referred by Jurong Polyclinic to the National University Hospital (NUH) for the procedure.
On the day of treatment, a nurse applied a numbing gel to my face to minimise discomfort.
I was told to wait for it to take effect.
After waiting nearly two hours, my name was finally called.
Two female doctors then used high-frequency electrical probes to burn off the spots and skin tags.
With over 50 lesions to treat, the pain gradually intensified and eventually became almost unbearable.
I later realised that the numbing gel only remains effective for about 30 minutes after application, which meant it had worn off long before my treatment began.
The entire electrosurgery session lasted roughly 10 minutes.
